Research by strategy consultancy AMR International indicates events will continue to provide long-term value creation opportunities for investors.
Florent Jarry, Head of AMR’s Global Events Practice says, “Events should be on the radar for discerning private equity investors, particularly those who anticipate the return of the industry and see its transformational potential. There are also opportunities for those with a short-term focus on distressed deals and special situations.”
AMR’s analysis indicates that selected distressed assets with strong fundamentals could offer great mid-term return potential for discerning investors. Opportunities include restructuring and performance improvement.
- AMR’s Globex 2020 report states the market globally is likely to rebound to 78% of its 2019 size in 2022
- New business models will emerge as successful operators tap into a more hybrid future
- Events companies are beginning their transformation to embrace a variety of digital channels
- Event tech is taking the spotlight and AMR is already supporting growth in the category
Further research from Freeman, a leading live event and brand experience company, also indicates the majority of attendees and exhibitors in the U.S. plan to return to face-to-face events in H2, 2021. The study found 85% of respondents say in-person events are irreplaceable because of their ability to drive commerce and networking that creates partnerships and innovation.
